579. The Hardships of Transmitting the Dharma
The entire spiritual practice system establishes a companionship-based approach—divided into beginner, intermediate, advanced, senior, and Dharma transmitter levels. Dharma transmitters face trials involving all sentient beings and human nature; in the Buddhist realm, Dharma transmitters ultimately face a near-death experience. Those belonging to the Guanyin lineage have two karmic connections: former family or relatives, and the myriad sentient beings within the Guanyin practice system. The Guanyin lineage undergoes extremely heavy mental tribulations. Which Buddhist lineage is better—the Maitreya lineage, which has a more open-minded perspective. Resources are available to students and fans of different levels.
580. Companionship-style Practice
Four stages of knowledge transmission: 1. The difference between having books and not having books. 2. The maturity of printing during the Industrial Revolution. 3. The intensive reading stage (Fan Deng's logical thinking). 4. The companionship stage—have you learned enough and internalized it? Have you gained a companionship-based understanding and growth? Knowledge is divided into levels and stages; some are merely tools, while others change lives. I hope to teach everyone things that can change lives. The current education system is built on using knowledge as tools—no one cares whether you are happy in your life, understand marriage education, care for your body, protect yourself, or stand out. Transform from a tool into a flesh-and-blood social being. Establish a cultivation environment—the laws of the mortal world.
581. Establishing Future Standards for Spiritual Practice (Visualized Spiritual Practice)
All spiritual practice must be visualized—humans need indicators. Human nature has proposed hundreds of indicators, and spiritual practice has dozens. It's not about self-enlightenment—if enlightenment were useful, what would be the point of having a teacher? The hope is for the collective to raise awareness; enlightenment can wait until the next life, but in this life, we must first gain understanding.
582. In spiritual practice, one must establish one's own faith.
Testing the immersive experience of a dream—testing one's cognitive nature. A bright and righteous heart—what is done is done, what is not done is not done. Real-world economic downturns and turmoil reveal the true nature of humanity. Can one believe this world is empty—when misfortune strikes and financial losses occur, can one treat it as a dream? Having read so much of the Diamond Sutra, can one treat it as a mere illusion when faced with real-life problems? Can one truly believe in what one has learned? Can one persist in speaking of the great principles of heaven and earth—not only for the human world to hear, but also for enlightened beings and all sentient beings in the Dharma realm.
583. The Laws of Cultivation
The most important thing in cultivation is knowing where you went wrong—who defined the correct standard? You are a product of the Heavenly Dao; whoever defines the correctness of this space should cultivate their teachings. The purpose of cultivation is to cultivate the rules set by the Heavenly Dao. Provide the Heavenly Dao with an instruction manual—explaining the Heavenly Dao and the Human Dao. Cultivate and change yourself according to the laws of the Heavenly Dao, and be told how long it will take to suffer backlash and suppression if you disagree with certain rules. Cultivate to become the person the Heavenly Dao wants you to be. When the laws of the Heavenly Dao and the laws of the Human Dao conflict—rather lose your life than do evil. Achieving perfect harmony between the laws of the Heavenly Dao and the laws of the Human Dao is the ultimate goal. Don't foolishly cultivate supernatural powers and methods in the mortal realm—there are so many higher-level cultivation methods and resources available; why cultivate in the mortal realm when you have them available elsewhere?
584. The Great Reincarnation View
Based on the foundation of countless sentient beings, countless reincarnations, and countless planes of existence—understanding how to live, how sentient beings live, your relationship with sentient beings, and what has happened in the past. Clearly understanding how the law of reincarnation influences and changes you. Who gave you this knowledge and understanding? Buddhas and Bodhisattvas had those thoughts because they saw things you cannot see—the reincarnation of sentient beings in fragmented spaces, sentient beings in the demon realm, and whether there is a place lower than the 18 levels of hell. What have you experienced in each lifetime of endless reincarnation—how has your mind and understanding of life changed? Lack of clarity will affect your perception and view of the world.
585. Views on Human Nature
Feng Tang is well-versed in the Zizhi Tongjian and history. There are 2500 years of written records—only three or four hundred years of inland China have seen no large-scale wars. From a grand historical perspective, the most important skill to master is escape—escaping, finding the right direction, and avoiding being harmed by others are the only ways to survive. The family-oriented mindset is extremely poisonous to humanity—homes are highly likely to be destroyed by economic fluctuations. The desire to settle down indicates insufficient exposure to the cycle of suffering. The vast majority of people suffer in old age—humanity lacks experience. The concept of a large family—few families survive beyond three generations; is education important? Which emperor, prince, or nobleman lacked teachers or money? How many generations can education preserve a family? If it can't even last three generations—the family and education perspectives are flawed.
586. Great Cultivation View
What's Right and What's Wrong—Understanding the definition of sentient beings within the cycle of reincarnation from a Buddhist perspective and from the perspective of beings outside the cycle of reincarnation. Historically, there have only been a handful of truly great teachers—the vast majority ultimately failed to change their fate. The economy has cycles; how can you believe it will always improve? It's hard to say how long a global economic depression will last. How can you truly see those around you without establishing a view of reincarnation across lifetimes? Your wife, husband, and children have experienced so much in countless reincarnations—only by establishing a broad view of reincarnation can you truly see them. Never telling you the methods, never providing correct information—when spiritual practice lacks a correct perspective, can your thinking change? All errors and suffering are the benevolent reminders from the heavens that you've done wrong—yet you still remain trapped in suffering. Only by establishing a broad view of spiritual practice can you understand the beauty of reincarnation and the beauty of sentient beings—unable to understand how suffering ultimately leads to self-realization. This stems from the limitations of cognition; a lack of understanding of the mechanisms of reincarnation. Seeing more of the truth—avoiding low-dimensional errors and low-dimensional suffering. A broad view of spiritual practice, history, humanity, family, career, and economics—using macroscopic concepts beyond human wisdom to reshape your true understanding of the world. To clearly understand why and how to do something, providing sufficient assistance to achieve personal and spiritual transformation. To integrate the concept of spiritual practice into one's very being, making it an inherent and instinctive quality.
587. Human Thought
Western Buddhism has little influence on thought—gradually being introduced into Eastern Buddhism. Correct thinking leads to correct behavior. Thought is influenced by its origin—a certain way of thinking is determined by the environment at birth, which is terrifying. How to counteract this origin of thought? There isn't a good method yet—it involves ancient, primordial settings. The way to find Buddhism is through lifetimes of companionship—even the most corrupt will eventually have their thinking changed in a lifetime. This world doesn't need powerful enlightened individuals spreading their ideas—it needs many people like parents to accompany you lifetime after lifetime, bearing all the pain they bring. The meaning of having children—only when raising your own children can you experience boundless compassion and achieve care. Many parents save their children subconsciously—it's the essence of compassion. Accompanying all beings to ultimately escape the cycle of reincarnation—the vast majority of people accompany each other through growth, enduring, tolerating, and resolving all mistakes made. Accompanying growth is extremely important.
